LogoElectronic Transducers

Electronic transducers provide the capability of collecting tensiometer measurements automatically and continuously.  By attaching a transducer to a tensiometer, and wiring to a datalogger, tension measurements can be collected automatically at regular intervals.  Moisture conditions in the soil and the water-use characteristics of the plants can be observed and monitored over time.

Transducer models are available which allow attachment to virtually any tensiometer commercially available, including those offered by Earth Systems Solutions as well as those available from other manufacturers.

Features

weatherproof, durable, suitable for use outdoors

factory calibrated and temperature compensated

• available in millivolt or 4-to-20 mA outputs

Applications

• datalogging tensiometer measurements

• continuously monitoring moisture status

• monitoring plant water use

• calibrating electronic moisture sensors

•automating an irrigation system

SKT850

The SKT850 attaches to the tensiometer body tube.  A small hole is drilled through the wall of the tensiometer tube, the transducer is mounted around the tube, and is held securely in place with a metal band.

SKU850

The SKU850 attaches via a ¼-NPT threaded fitting.
